SOHS 2018 panel discussion, Beijing

The Innovation Center for Risk Governance at the Beijing Normal University (ICRG BNU) in collaboration with ALNAP will host an open forum on The Situation of the Humanitarian System.

Over two decades, China is emerging as a new partner in the international humanitarian sector. Chinese organisations have realised the necessity of mutual understanding with the existing humanitarian system. Against this background, ICRG BNU is introducing the ALNAP research on Situation of the Humanitarian System to Chinese partners that are engaged in humanitarian response and relevant sectors.

While the forum is an integrated session of the Summer Academy on Humanitarian and Sustainable Development, it also welcomes participation of practitioners, policy makers, academics and consultants in relevant sectors. A Chinese version of the SOHS 2018 Summary will be launched during the forum, informing participants of progress and trends of the international humanitarian system, welcoming extended discussion.
