Canberra | SOHS Panel discussion at Australasian Aid Conference

Date
28 Nov 2022
Time
15:30 - 16:45, GMT +11

Humanitarian action provides a lifeline to people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Yet not everyone is reached and adequately supported during a humanitarian response and humanitarian staff risk their lives to provide aid in hostile contexts. With such high stakes, humanitarian actors at all levels have an obligation to learn and improve.

ALNAP’s 2022 State of the Humanitarian System report (SOHS) supports this learning by monitoring changes in the shape, size and performance of the international humanitarian system. The SOHS is a unique, independent longitudinal study that synthesises evidence to assess how well the humanitarian system meets the needs of people affected by crises. There have been four previous editions of the report, with the fifth edition covering January 2018 to December 2021.

ALNAP will present the key findings from the report and the panel discussion will interrogate important themes that are pertinent to the Australasian region.
