One of the most important ways of assessing the performance of humanitarian assistance is to ask people in crisis to evaluate the support they receive. The perspectives of aid recipients have played a significant role in grounding the findings and analysis of all three State of the Humanitarian System reports. This document takes a focused look at what we heard from aid recipients in our research for the 2018 report, and highlights key sets of insights from this data.

In the printed version of this report, the key in Figure 21 in this resource is mislabelled. Black represents answers to ‘were you able to give feedback?’ and white represents answers to ‘were you consulted on what you needed prior to distribution’.
